ebay issues another statement about the "Mystery Listings'

I tried to post this to youtube videos, but for whatever reason, the posts will not actually post. YT is full of pesky little 'glitches' of different types all the time. LOL.

For those just tuning in, ebay has posted a message on system announcement pg March 02, 2008 02:32PM PST/PT, stating:
"Some Shopping.com listings appeared accidentally on eBay.com over the past two days. This system issue has been resolved. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused."

Compare to yesterday's statement of "This was a limited test that has run its course." by Usher Lieberman.

Which time were they being truthful, if either?

More answers please ebay!

Why dont they just state the truth. They snuck these "listings" in during the boycott to falsely inflate their numbers. Smells like Enron to me.

OT - I would like to say Hi to Clink and Slandy. I know you too hags still keep an eye on this board.

I betcha they went a little too far this time.
People are strting to find what appear to be huge amounts of listings concealed still, in the form of large amounts of 'phantom listings'
It is mentioned at auctionbytes, and elsewhere.

I found the very same thing.

Check this out, from Doc, of ebaymotorssucks.com

With that out of the way, I present this finding in the Clothing Shoes and Accessories Category.

eBay claims there is roughly 2473927 items in 49,599 Pages. If you look at the 50 items per page, they end on page 10,702.

Multiplying 50 items x 10,702 pages gives a total of 535,100 items in that category. Where are the other 1,938,827 Items??
