A Staten Island bigot peddling Ku Klux Klan snowmen figurines on eBay was bounced from the popular online auction block yesterday.
The seller, whose name was not released by eBay, had been trying to fetch bids for the crude clay ornaments with removable white, pointy hoods.
The starting bid for each "KKK Snowmen and Snow-women" was $13.77.
"He's made of clay and stands a nice size at 5" tall," the seller says of one of the figurines. "He is in his white gown (some people like to call them sheets) and hood, which is removable for your viewing pleasure."
No bids had been made on the offensive items as of last night, and eBay officials vowed to stop the auction after being informed about it by the Daily News.
"That listing is in fact a violation of our offensive materials policy," said eBay spokeswoman Catherine England. "We specifically state that we prohibit listings that reference groups or organizations that promote violence, hatred or religious or racial intolerance."
"This is something we will take down from our site," she pledged.
England said the Web site has an average of 105 million items up for auction at any given time, making it difficult to screen all of them for taste.
She encouraged people to contact eBay when they see something offensive on the site, which posts more than 6 million new items for sale each day.
Previous KKK-related items flagged on eBay include a pocket knife with a Klan shield on its blade, an antique Klan hood and a T-shirt imprinted with a burning cross.

Well this is funny. All this time I thought the Nazis and the KKK got along together.
I suppose the world is a safer place today. (unless you are using that dangerous website which is full of scams and redirected fake sign in pages)
Now why doesnt ebay put as much effort into correcting real problems which are harming real consumers as they do enforcing their political views?
Obviously they have the ability to act quickly when need be. Could it be because all the scams earn them $$$?
PayPal was, at one time, the online payment service for the KKK. -- FACT
This does sort of remind me, for some odd reason, of one time in the news when someone, obviously a prank, went around and turned a few peoples snowmen into KKK lookalikes with pointy heads.
Hmmm... is it still okay to pimp out your daughter on ebay?

I still am trying to figure out what it is about the KKK that says "Christmas Holiday Festivities"?
Are there actually people out there who would put KKK ornaments on their tree? Gives a whole new meaning to "white christmas", eh?
I should have crafted some "Decapitated Head of John the Baptist" (made with real hair of saints even), or Charlie Manson christmas tree ornaments. Those would probably have been a big hit and ebaY would not have pulled them either.
Seriously, it is somewhat good to see ebay act fast with situations like that, but why cant they focus where it really matters. (like proper registration AT THE GATE, and/or repairing the 1 1/2 year old redirect flaw for instance.)
Their efforts with the latest video game consoles are an improvement from last years xbox360 fiasco. (for anyone but the scammers)

Whomever is in charge of buying ebaY's adwords (or whatever the exact term is) on GOOG needs to put the crackpipe down and step away from the keyboard.
I can't say I am surprised though, I found that plenty of hilarious keywords come up as sponsored links for ebay, guess I just never thought to look for that one.
