In some cases, eBay is overstating the selling prices of items that have sold on its marketplace. The problem, which affects Completed Item searches, was revealed last month by an EcommerceBytes reader, but the apparent glitch has yet to be acknowledged or corrected by eBay.
Last year, sellers noticed some apparent glitches with items that had not sold having a "sold" banner appearing on them, so anyone perusing sold items would think the sell through rate was higher than it actually was. That issue has since been fixed.
Now the obvious cause and effect of the above situation? Is it just me or are they trying to blot out any last bits of easily observable/documentable data which could be revealing of an ill state of affairs?
I noticed today that when searching through completed items to see what things have sold for, items which sold after receiving best offers no longer show what it sold for.. All you see is the original price with a slash mark through it. Why would they do this ??? We should be able to see how much things sold for regardless of wether it was buy it now, best offer or auction... What happened ???

Just got off the phone with ebay... not a technical issue but a policy change. A really silly one, if you ask me! Why shouldn't we be able to see what things actually sold for?!
