But look on teh bright side. That means less people will be scammed, and there will be less shill bidding. (No matter how much sleazebay secretly mangles their policies to accomodate fraudsters, or as evilbay calls them "Pillars of the Community")
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Or just find your way to the technical issues and bidding forums at sleazebay. There are sooo many mystery glitches besides the bidding /payment/checkout we cannot list them all.
Looks like they are shredded and slashed, sliced and diced, torn and tattered. Big chunks of bloody cyber-flesh are plop plop plopping all around and nary a hacker in sight.
Hey, maybe some more censorship and threats will help?

There's been many similar reports for the last couple months, increasing very recently.
rotflmao!
How smart are ebayers? Who is stupid enough to pay for services they don't even receive? Purposeful and manipulated lack of visibility is bad enough, but buyers' inability to make a purchase due to technical failure is really beyond the pale.
We are a TRS an offer Free Shipping. We have over 450 items on Ebay ALL priced competitively. We consistently sell $2000 - $2500 a week & have 99.9% Feedback. Since Wednesday we have NOT generated ANY Buy It Now sales between the hours of 2 PM EST & 11:00 PM EST. When we have sold something it has been something that has been in our store for more than 2 months. Customers have told us that they have tried to purchase from us but CANNOT because it advises with a message "FEATURE UNAVAILABLE" or "ITEM NO LONGER AVAILABLE". Oh My God - this is a DISASTER ! Since Wed December 19 - we have sold 3 items on Buy It Now. THIS IS UNHEARD OF For us ! We have called the CSR Line & They have told us it will be reviewed and hopefully fixed in 48 hours - Spoke with Jake. ANYONE ELSE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ?
I've had this problem on and off for about two to three weeks. I type an amount into the bid field and then the "Review and confirm your bid" box pops up, and I hit "Confirm bid," but it doesn't progress back to the auction screen and does not accept the bid. I click "Confirm bid," "Confirm bid,""Confirm bid,""Confirm bid,""Confirm bid,""Confirm bid,""Confirm bid,""Confirm bid," you get the idea. Sometimes it works (accepts my bid) when I start over from the auction page. This is on FF 16.0.2

Trying to place a bid, but it doesn't work! It's really sad this site issue still exists months later. Issues like this have a significant effect on sales too. What a shame ebay

That's the exact problem I've been having for almost two months.
Not every time. Only maybe 1/3 of the time? But often enough that a lot of sellers are losing a lot of money because often I'm willing to bid a couple of hundred higher than the winning bidder.
I am really upset today. I bidded on several items on ebay, someone changed my bids, I didn't know who, put large amounts, I am done buying on ebay from now on. I called and spoke to a man who assured me everything would be ok, told me to wait an hour or so, yes, I am concerned because within the last 12 hours you cannot retract a bid. I told him it has happened on three of my items this morning. I repeatedly asked to speak with the resolutions office and was not directed to them. I am concerned as someone has been bidding on my behalf unbeknown to me. They had my correct bid amount on their end. Yes, then they stick the difference in money in their pockets. Well, no more bidding from me. We all lost because of this, me on my bidding, the person selling and ebay. I hope they stop the dishonest people from doing this to innocent people. Soon they will have no business if this keeps up. I do not believe the seller did this either. I believe someone at ebay is dishonest here.
Ebay has SERIOUS technical issues and unfortunately for me, I found out today that they also have serious INTEGRITY issues to match. I was bidding in an international auction yesterday and followed it to it's end. As the clock ticked down and the auction ended, the bar at the top of the auction turned 'green' and stated that I had won the auction. As I was bidding on a very expensive toy for a customer, I immediately called him and told him of the win. Moments after that, I got personal emails stating that I was outbid and HAD NOT won the auction. Had I been thinking at that moment, I should have snapped a picture of my computer screen showing my win. I clicked on the 'customer support' icon and I called ebay immediately for explanation of the incident. The woman ebay agent verified what I was seeing and stated that she would forward the case to the technical assistance department and that I would hear back from eBay within 24 hours.
Well . . . nothing from eBay so I called again today. Miraculously, the winning screen I saw is gone and no record of it - not even noted in the case file. Now I'm told it could take up to 72 hours to hear back from them, or maybe longer. How many of you have heard that from eBay before? I know this isn't the first problem I've had with them in the 13+ years I've been a member. I understand things happen and no situation is perfect but this is a complete COVER UP of a very bad GLITCH in their system. The fact that they're OPENLY DISHONEST with me about the events that took place with this auction is sad but expected.
I AM Al VanNatta aka: uncle_als_toys, and am seriously considering terminating my association with this company.
The shopping cart page has not been loading for the past few days... The webpage just times out.
I never had this problem before. It's getting annoying...

There are lots more bidding related glitches mentioned on the bidding board and others, including many where people from sellers' blocked countries being able to bid/purchase (maybe so ebay can benefit from the controversial Global Shipping Program, and/or that 'glitch' will soon be policy, as hinted at by recent events/changes?)
If you are a buyer experiencing troubles bidding /buying, simply go to a different website where things work as they should. There is nothing on sleazebay you cannot acquire elsewhere, oftentimes for less $ and more favorable overall conditions, less glitches, idiotic policies, BS silliness etc. Oops, except that on ebay you can get it free! (should you be so inclined!) lmao!
Other possibilities include to search the web with your favorite search engine for the seller's name and/or item title. Chances are that people have already begun to make sure they have visibility on whatever other sites or whatever other ways to contact them.
Not enough time to run them all down but complaints are still rolling in about the cart and the countdown clock too.
You know they must be losing revenue over things like that.
Ebay forum cheerleader types are telling the complaining parties that the clock is not 'official'
bwhahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Hey! Does anyone know what a hacked site looks and acts like?
Do a little research! Leave the name ebay out of it. See for yourselves, then compare. rotflmao.
Just because some hacker/comedian isn't rubbing ebaY's nose in it with high visibility doesn't mean the place is not hacked to the gills for all intents and purposes! Whether by an actual "hacker" or even employees... perhaps disgruntled ones?
