Could eBay be planning a new returns policy? Currently the policy requires all sellers on eBay to specify a return policy, whether they accept returns or not.
We learned this week that eBay is hiring a Senior Manager of eBay Returns to create a new returns flow for customers and to integrate it with the eBay Buyer Protection program.
Most ecommerce websites offer customers RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorization) so they can return goods to the retailer - often the site sends an RMA shipping label to the customer using the merchant's preferred shipping carrier. It's possible eBay could be facilitating such RMA labels via its shipping center.
The big question is whether eBay would begin making it mandatory for sellers to accept returns, and under what circumstances.
