How EBay Revved Up Its Website

Maybe this article would be better titled "How ebay revved up it's share prices so Meg could recoup some of her epic losses, as ebay execs continue to dump shares like the there's no tomorrow" instead?

How EBay Revved Up Its Website

Nov. 5 2010 - 3:50 pm

For much of eBays 15-year existence, the online retailers website resembled the cluttered auction listings it specialized in. Following a recent makeover, however, the site is more streamlined and easier to navigate....

"Some of the speed is real, some is perceived, admitted Carges. "Were not necessarily rendering the page faster, but it will seem that way because the thing a consumer wants to do or know is loading quickly."

A quick trip to Alexa shows that 2/3 of sites still load fater. Ebay is still listed as a slow site. I don't have time right to do the load speed test site or the w3c html validator, but I'm sure the pages fail there too. Last time I tried, on 3 different browsers, none of them worked or rendered the pages 100% properly. IE was the worst iirc. The technical issues bd at ebay still looks like peeps are having weird troubles of all sorts.
