PREDICTIONS

We've been hearin a lot of chatter about what was or is going on over at 'you know'! (I can't say such vulgar language as the four letter 'E' word, my mommy will wash my mouth out with soap).

I would like to hear  some of you predikers in here. So get out yer crystal BALLS, and let's speculate what will happen next??? Where are things going, based on assumption and MO's, and reputations, WHAT NEXT? What will JHoe do?

OK, me first...

Talk is that feepay is going to become an outlet for the big stores, a clearing house for the 'made in China' chains. If this is the final stage of JHoe's hidden agenda, this will result in the edoor being slammed in the remaining sellers faces. Where will they go, what will they do. Perhaps OLA will take off, but will JHow also have a place for them to go? Or will he try to take over OLA and other alternate web publishers.

He likes to take over **** as in coo de tah!
Get the stock value down, smells like take over. Change TOS policies -= take over. Suspensions = take over! Paypal = take over1 The guy is like a dicktator!

When the new ebad emerges, will the buyers still BUY? Sure they will, it's cheap ****!
But will they also follow their fave sellers to let's say OLA? Sure they will!
This could result in a war between ebad and OLA to get the buyer's moola.
I think Jhow will either try to crush and destroy OLA (his forte'), then take it over.
What sayest thou people?

They did say that eb would be 'unrecognizable' or words to that effect, didn't they?

I am going to go out on a limb with this prediction: I am predicting that, one year from today, ebay will still suck.

LOL Well that is an easy one.

Today I saw the new stock on Watchnews and it is obvious that Walmart is moving in soon.

Previous articles states that Johnny is not interested in Ebay and they aren't going to stop hurting the people.  He also said that their future is focused on Web 2 and their communications tools.  IE SKYPE, ect.

Check out the articles on newswatch.com and see what I mean.

I predict that they will be just like Walmart except people can just order their **** on line and have it delivered to their door step, sometimes within minutes because Walmart is in most every city in the US.

It makes perfect sense when you think about it.  Why else would they want to destroy the sellers and keep the buyers.

Like the 10% discount on future purchases if they leave a low DSR rating.  Looks like they are just getting the consumers to join in the hack fest, like all their employees are.

What do you think about that for a crystal ball.  Actually, I can't take credit for the phycic prodiction since the writing in so clearly written on the wall.

You never really know what a year will bring. The way things are, one month is a stretch.
Who could or would have guessed anything we saw so far?

I haben a hunch they will have bigger, and badder challenges within a year though.

lmao!

This place reminds me of the gypsies at the county fair tent!
I can picture SCM with her babooshka on with all the jewels.
Next week is our county fair. I'm gonna print out some flyers to hand out. Shoot, I may get my own tent and crystal ball, but my daughtor would have to be the gypsy. She's psycho, I mean psicko, I mean psychic! She HATES how they stare at her, it creeps her out!

I have no predictions but I have to wonder...
Where will all the folks who made eBay a success go?..
The concept was a great one and is not yet dead...
It is being slowly executed by the new CEO and the lying shoe seller..
However it occurs to me that this presents a golden opportunity for some entity to pick up the pieces and recreate the eBay of old...
At this point in time there is still no r auction site which produces the traffic needed to sell your typical used eBay item...but if they drive everyone away folks will still want to find the bargains they seek
Who will it be?
Perhaps Klink and Snow Slut will need new jobs and create a new auction site?...:)
I'll be the first to sign up and take em down

I have restructured my web site but I am taking my auctions to onlineauction.com. I live here and can see what they are doing. Never had a chance to visit the Ebay office. Hummm

10 years ago, Ebay was not the greatest either. What gets me is some people who had only recently started on Ebay don't realize that it got there, somehow. It is the long term seller who made Ebay what it is today. Yes, we can start over. Better than selling your soul to the devil.

onlineauction.com is a great place to start our new homes. Granted it doesn't have the traffic yet, and that is a price that we will pay, and make it bigger than Ebay. Yep, I said it. With the mission of ola.com and what I see in thier business plans, they will definately be the largest, in time.

Right now I am setting up my web site away from Ebay, which means a lot of work and expense but at this point, we feel we have no choice. Ebay's policies have opened the doors for anyone to come in and take our business away with the negative feedback. And with the increased fees, there is no way a seller can make a profit and still offer the buyer a great deal.

At only $8.00 a month, and unlimited auctions with no final value fee. I don't see anything wrong with rebuilding our site where it is truely ours and the Administration is not going to pull the rug out from under the sellers with rediculous policies.

Check it out. Also they just opened ola radio. Wouldn't it be great to see Griff and ola radio on a townsquare chat? LOL I would love it.

Cletus, I was kinda predicting you would get NARUd after spilling the beans about Ms Shoe SalesLady. lmao. still.

But seriously, I have had enough of auctions. Unless it is some prized collectible that I have to have... forget it. That's just me though . I prefer to get most of my stuff brand new, and in person whenever possible. After getting sleazebayed a time or 2 too many, then Painpal'd too. Fuggetabout it. Those creeps never even read folks' email. They don't follow their own rules.. etc ...ad nauseum.

There are auction sites 2 sites I have used, both of them are/were head and shoulders above eb in every way too. But still, having to watch and keep track,... worry about scammers and chargebacks... idiots dictating my payment preferences, and be there in the final moments,... screw that.

It was fun onceuponatime, but the 'gleam is gone'

Thanks ebay & paypal. We don't say that often enough.

I prodict that the Ebay Boycotters are one day going to UNITE and get those BAS!!!!!!!!.

That is what I think!!!

Everyone has to ask themselves again.......

Are you In or are you OUT!

We can't close the Boycott down and let people divide our efforts.

I predict that we will finally get our **** together and bust them down to oblivian!!!

Oh, I also predict that onlineauction.com is the next LARGEST Auction site.

As soon as I have time to help the Ebay Boycott!

God made me a TOOL and that is who I must fight for.

I feel it is unreasonable to expect everyone to come together and unite, either in agreement to Boycott completely and leave, to press for change, or whatever. I liken it to the classic bell curve/probability experiments perhaps. The ping pong balls are never ever going to fall down the same chute. Less will usually fall at one end or the other.  Add in the variable that human emotions are much more fickle thatn gravity, and... you can see the results would be much less predictable.
Same applies to whatever platform(s) folks land in or favor (if they advocate leaving/using other sites.)
bear in mind factors such as seperation anxiety and related. Many folks are just scared of the unknown. They know nothing but eb.

My sentimenets are that the overwhelming amount of people want some sort of change away from the present course though.

I think this explains it in fairly simple terms.

As far as any single platform coming out in the lead any time soon, I very seriously doubt that, and I feel it is wrong to promote or expect that.
Nothing against anyone's favorite... I wish them all luck. I feel that smaller 'niche' sites would be the ones to gain more immediate popularity.
One that I am a member/user of is not even a dot on the chart, and I have never even seen it mentioned on YT, eb or eb related forums, or anywhere. Nonetheless, it is a real community of like minded folks. And for the area of my interest in collecting things, there is no better choice.

This one will be freaky...
IF esux wants to be an outlet clearing house for the China chainstores,
WHAT IF THEY FEEL THAT EBAY COSTS TOO MUCH IN FEES, AND HAS TOO MUCH HASSLES WITH BUYERS, SO THEY OPT NOT TO USE EBAY AFTER ALL? Especially when they find out that they can sell much cheaper on OLA! Can you imagine JHoe's plan backfires like that, all his work to change ebay, and it dosn't work as he had hoped, all those big mega sellers decide to double cross JHoe and go to OLA for the cheap flat 8$/,monthly. How can ebay compete with that? I've told some sellers on ebay (ask seller) about the OLA, and they thanked me and signed up right away, they ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE CHANGES! I think many people still at ebay simply donot know about a much better deal. All they need to do is move from point A to point B. And I told them that they can DO BOTH until OLA takes off, so they feel the risk is very small compairred to esux. Selling on esux is counter-productive.

Cabn you imagine realters perfering OLA to the high costs of the multi listings? Or Car dealers preferring OLA tot he classifieds. A flat 8$/month is far cheaper than a lcoal newspaper, and has a much larger exposure. You just cannot beat that cheap flat rate! Esux seems to want the professionals, but any pro would go for the much lower rateas long as theirre are buyers. The trick is to get the buyers interested in OLA! I think the main reason that buyers are loyal to ebay is simply that ebay has the volume at this time. To a buyer, the more hits the better. Buyers get hooked on winning, and to win they have to have plenty of items they want available. So I predict that if OLA, or others, make it big enough to beat esux, they have to attract the BUYERS en mass. So the more sellers that move, the more buyers will FOLLOW. Less sellers on esux, means less hits, means unhapy buyers, means buyer byebye, not buy buy.
