I am ouching! Paypal sent a notice to me tonight. I have a temporary hold on $104.00 on my account. I didn't know what it was about but it traces back to a sale on December 11. 2007. I called them with gracious help from some Paypal board members walking me through the process.
Once I talked with paypal the facts are: The buyer who bought in december now has a negative paypal account and they go back to the last transactions to recover the $$. I do not understand this one bit. I got off the phone shaking my head. How can this be? How can this happen? Three + months later? I shipped the product, it was delivered. I have the tracking number, took a while to download it. It's not an issue of non-delivery or anything. It is because the buyer owes paypal money. Oh, glory, I am annoyed. I do not know how to proceed.
royalpresence) View Listings | Report Mar-17-08 Well, the $$ is still being held whilst under review, no news yet. However, I did receive an email asking to critique my phone call representative. But, the email used some other representative name, not the one I talked with!
royalpresence) View Listings | Report Mar-22-08 Got an email from PP today, says ineligible SP. I call, say it is eligible, have the transaction details, etc..... another ten days they tell me. I gave them the tracking number with delivery confirmation from the USPS, the representative saw that it was delivered Dec 17th. I am so annoyed beyond comprehension. Again, the rep was nice. But, am I going to have to constantly monitor this? I just want my money back. In all sincerity, the rep said the buyer does not have the money and they are trying to recover it! This is really wrong. It's not MY FAULT! I hate to use caps, but it is really, really not a good thing.
Thanks for contacting PayPal. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your questions.
I was not able to determine exactly what your question was, so I thought a description of what happened might assist you in understanding what happened with your transaction.
A bank reversal, sometimes known as an ACH Return, is when PayPal receives a request to return funds for a transaction that was funded by a bank account. A request for a bank reversal can come from the buyer who holds the bank account or the bank itself. Usually, such a request is the result of suspected unauthorized use of a bank account.
When PayPal receives a bank reversal, we will open an investigation into the transaction and may request additional information from both the buyer and seller.
If the investigation finds the transaction was fraudulent, it will be reversed. There will not be a fee charged for this reversal. Otherwise, it will be completed.
I wish you the best with your future transactions.

Paypal can put a hold on your account funds for 21 days. Paypal is not FDIC insured. Do you have the money or time to lose?
Every indication is that they are getting desperate. Trying to clamp down and suck up every last nickle they can get. That entire bank reversal thing is a scam. It is a derivation/ byproduct of deceptive techniques & false promises in its self. PP KNOWS that bank reversals cannot be defended against. They purposefully make that 'payment options' thing AFUd.
No other checkout I have used anywhere has that arrangement.
Notice all the 'glitches' always allow PP to collect more $ somehow?
Notice that new DSR glitch will now allow the 21 day hold for thousands, maybe millions more sellers.
