First thought: hmm, real close to the freeway, facilitating the robbers gegaway.
In the Oregon state capital city of Salem, the Police Department reports that 40 new iPhones were stolen from an AT&T Mobility store in the week hours Wednesday.
According the cops in that city, (second largest in Oregon, behind my hometown of Portland) someone broke into the store, broke a window and took the phones.
Wow, man. This is the first case I have ever heard of iPhone theft.
There is a valuable lesson for all of us, though.
One would think that the theif may try to sell these devices, probably online. And as in other such cases, I wouldnt put it past him to work with professional fence-type thieves who might try to unload these iPhones on eBay or something similar.
So if I were you, Id be careful to not give in to temptation and buy an iPhone over the transom.
