I'm thinking dishonest. Dishonesty and e-bay go hand it hand because it's in e-bay's best interest NOT to clean up their act. BTW, are they doing ANYTHING about Vlad, or do the consider him an a mere irritant?

Don't forget eBay's motto:
We believe people are basically good. We believe everyone has something to contribute. We believe that an honest, open environment can bring out the best in people. We recognise and respect everyone as a unique individual. We encourage you to treat others the way you want to be treated.
You can only imagine the excitement when I opened an email from ebay to be told that I had achieved five positive feedbacks. Only five more and I will receive my first feedback star (yippy do da!)Apparently all this positive feedback reinforces the ebay values. I was dying to know what that entailed so a followed the link:
We believe people are basically good. We believe everyone has something to contribute. We believe that an honest, open environment can bring out the best in people. We recognise and respect everyone as a unique individual. We encourage you to treat others the way you want to be treated.
Some interesting stuff! The theology of modern man is the ebay values system. Do they not read the papers or listen to the news. A perverted man murders five women whose lives have broken down - basically good? Do they never ponder their own thoughts - basically good?
According to ebay all we need is an honest and open environment to bring out the best in people - only one problem there - where does one find an honest and open environment when human beings are by nature dishonest.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have an environment where people were accepted for who they were, where the best in them was drawn out, where all were treated as unique individuals who treated one another as they wished to be treated.
The Lord Jesus told a parable about all this - the Good Samaritan. The person asking the Lord the question that prompted the parable lived by ebay values - he was a works man - do your best and all will be well.
The whole purpose of the Lord's parable is to show that we can't live by ebay like values. The ideals are great but of ourselves we just can't do it. The message of the parable and indeed the Bible is that we are sinnners through and through - we are not good, we don't care what others can contribute, environment doesn't make us bad that is what we are, we don't respect others. We are in big trouble. So is there any hope? Yes. The Lord Jesus came into the world to save men and women from the guilt and power of sin. In Jesus Christ there is new life. There is forgiveness from all our sin, a wonderful new standing before God, a way to please God and truly serve our fellow human beings in a manner that honours God.
So where will you find an environment where the best in people is brought out? According to the Bible that is what your local church is to be like.
The following verses will give you a true understanding who you are and what the Lord Jesus Christ does for sinners: Mark 7:20-23; Luke 10:25-37, Romans 3:9-31

For a pioneering online blah blah whatever to have sooo many listing specials in such a short time frame, that sure does not look too impressive.
Especially knowing that TONNES of them are fraudulaent.
I wonder why they have been having sooo many listing specials lately?
Do they always have this many?
Oh, BTW, anyone checked out the newest search thingy they have going on over there?
Looks as if they manipulated it purposefully to keep folks from searching to find all that fraud... (except the hapless victims, who are not informed about the fraud, by the fraud-monger)
Seems to follow a pattern...
Tsk Tsk,
Anyone feel that ebaY is making mistake after grave mistake?
We may expect to see another big listing special soon.
I believe the HACKERS just LOVEthose listing special$!
Well, I see a picture is forming.... AGAIN!
I wonder whether anyone at ebay ever considers whether automated emails, goons and censorship on the chat boards, obstacle course-like forms, constant glitches, ever changing rules, lack of real human customer service, blah blah blah, etc, ad nauseum were really such a good idea?
oops, did I leave out the dirty tricks, or the harrassing the living HELL out of someone over hmmm... maybe less than 10 bucks worth of shrubberies, or exercising their right to free speech for instance?
Now should the graph have advanced further than what it has on the time axis? Well, maybe not on the daily chart as we see it is heading right off the scale, but observe the weekly chart...
The times are encoded into the filenames. Taken less than 10 minutes ago. The time as I post this is approximately 5 pm pacific time.
The very latest ebaY count from powersellersunite counts shows 11,353,128 listings. If you were to pop a line from the last coordinate on the weekly chart there, above, to it's proper place on the time axis, I believe you would be seeing a very steep line.
Judging from that, and the recent non stop beeps from the rss reader in the next room, I would say the hijacker-hackers are having quite a day.
Okay, fresh screencap here of the medved weekly chart for 05-20 to 05-26-2007
Note this thing ends at around the 4-5th hour of the 21st, much like the daily chart above for 05-21-07. It has not changed.
Now, just checking at the only counter device I know of at PSU, I see that the counts are now at 11,362,975 and dropping, some 64961, for .57% That chart is updated once an hour.
The overall point here is that when you see a sharp rise, then a sharp fall, it is natural to subsume that we shall see a sharp angle in the charts, coinciding.
By sampling and plotting less often, these charts can me manipulated to avoid the tell-tale signature the rapid influx and subsequent rapid cancellation of the hijacked listings.
Now, let us just keep an eye on when the sampling returns, and the characteristics of that "curve" when it does.
It don't take no dadburned fluid kinetics dynamics theory physicist to see what in tarnation is a goin' on here.
