Are there any mathematicians or 6th grade bidness school grads out there who can help interpret these results? I have sooooo much trouble understanding these tricky non-linear functional relationships.

Looks like someone is writing their name in the chart

I bet IT must really suck to be ebaY right now.

The same statement also rings a bell for some (scarcely) odd reason.

Maybe there is some other explanation for the characteristic we see there, although , I believe there is a listing special today in Canada and the UK.

If that is correct, I would expect to see the numbers go UP, and remain UP

Perhaps Hani Durzy can explain IT?

IT appears that listing special is for the 7th.

How many listing specials have there been this calender year so far?

Do they always give 2 days advance notice?

Hmmm... Looka there...Why, what a curious, nearly symetric appearance.

On the vertical axis, the values are around, at least one million, or a bit more. (I have a a hard time with all that there stuff)

I notice on that there time axis that it just ends abrubtly while also going sharply upwards.

Just not capturing that there last lil bit of time, eh?

Will it level off again, or just keep going up?

Wonder what will happen when the big special listing day happens?

Are there ANY other days, or periods where ebaY charts have shown this marked characteristic?
(when there were no specials occuring)

What to the deniers have to say about this?

That there is worth a thousand words, but how many frogskins?

Has anyone from ebaY explained the curious appearance of the MedVed Charts?

Am I the only one noticing that the MedVed charts appearence suddenly looks more curve-like, starting the very next day after those damning graphs in the Register?

Simply amazing!

I have a very hard time believeing that, all things considered.

Too funny! NO! It really sucks to be the CZAR at eBaY right now. I hope he's paid the "Big Bucks" 'cause he certainly deserves it.

I honestly hope Meg W. doesn't make more money than the CZAR of eBaY, but who knows. Ain't NONE of my business, anyway. HaHa!!!

This thread is too funny!! There ought to be a warning emoticon at the opening of it, which would indicate that a person should open it with caution, put their coffee cup down, for instance, so as NOT to spill fresh coffee all over one's keyboard.

LOL!!

It's probably just a Rorschach thang, but I swear I see someone flipping the bird.

OK the charts seem to be broken now. It was all day yestersday, so far today the same.
Very interesting...You can see the dates in the url and on my tabs.

Is this plausable deniability in the works?

(or as some might/could call IT, just plain old dishonesty?)

It would be very interesting if someone, somewhere had the ability to create their own charts, sampled directly from ebaY's category numbers, let's say maybe every 15-20 minutes.
