Here we go... The very same 2 email addresses used yet again yesterday.

Note the time and date on the screencaps

Both of these are visible in the first vid of the 'pre-strike' vids, the ipod listing is identical. The one in the first screencap up there is in both vids, and there are more... Hilarious. It looks like maybe ebay employeess are too busy censoring forums, or listing items to inflate the falterring counts, as has been reported. Maybe to care about keeping those scam items out...

Geee... hmmmm..,... Just thinking out loud. It was about this time last year our friend Vladuz started making ebay look even worse, and it has been a steady decline since then. Of course there is a really good reason why this is all happening.

Not really sure what to think of this. I was actually looking for a new computer and followed a link from Google Shopping (products) to this seller's list on ebay; (just for kicks, or if they were close by)

Note that this does show the same sort of pattern as the normally hijacked high end stuff, all listed in strange categories, eg books, clothing etc.

But looking at the first item, we see they are NARU, with 12233 items listed

But it gets even stranger... Here we follow the link to their feedback page. Lookie there.

So maybe this is just helping ebay's item counts. I can't think of any real reason why they would still be there otherwise? Note the day this member joined. Note that name. Too funny. Maybe this was ebay competitor trying to sneak one by... who knows???

Nothing would surprise me about ebay anymore (or any less )

Well just a little update here. Our good buddy BIZ.KASTOR@gmail.com has been hacking the hoo-haw out of ebay for probably a week straight or longer now.
Whoever this is, is able to get the fake listings riight in, with only seconds or a few minutes showing elapsed.

He just got done striking again, here is a screencap of some of the carnage.

Too funny really. Now that Vladuz 'has been captured', that worn out, has-been, run-down, dangerous & dishonest site seems to be taking a big one in the backside. A really big angry throbbing one. Losers!

Assume the position. You are owned, sleazebay!

I can hardly wait until after May 1st.

From around one week ago now. There were probably at least a couple hundred of these, from at least 2 sellers. with redirect code snippet leading to phake adult login pages.
They were there long enough to claim victims or for anyone to get that snippet.

Could still be happening. But who cares? The place is a slimepit, from top to bottom.

I had to laugh at the text of this first one. biggrin

Just my opinion, xppman, no they did NOT catch him.
PR stunt. Statements I have read contend that whoever thwey actually caight was released after 20 days or so and the equivalent of a couple thousand dollar fine.

Does that sound like a reasonable punishment for such a 'heinous' person?
And why no media stories since the alleged arrest? Surely this would have been a topic worthy of follow-up for a reporter?

Just remember, once a liar, always a liar. No one should ever take eb word at face value again.

One other little thing I found funny... (hahahahaha type funny)
Go read comments at firemeg blog entries and you will see what appears to be someone representing themselves to be V stating that he and Meg actually got together for drinks!

I should probably ask some of my friends or relatives to check into the official public records.

Getting back to this issue of the hackings we saw going on & on &on...
You have to realize that is only one technique, and actually a sloppy on to begin with. That sort of thing would/could never have happened if common sense were in play. Also, realize that V man must have been out to prove a point, because the very best of them never leave a trace behind.

In addition, they would no longer need to use that method if they already have a direct pipeline to the money, and apparently they do.
Furthermore, If you go over to the USA paypal forum, and to Oz, you will find the pP site has been in shambles for months & months, with 'glitches' of all types, some persistant, some re-occuring.

Not to mention the holes that were discovered, the xxs flaws, they claim to have fixed (but we know how they lie, so why believe them this time?)

Oh well, only morons and crooks will be using that service. It really is eaten alive.

Frankly, you have to wonder how it is that a multi-billion dollar corp cannot even make a site that works.

They have 'spyware' etc embedded in the codes.
(Go to the site and allow all scripiting, then check out everything there in AdBlock PLus Blockable items panel. You will see 2o7.net, adclick, doubleclick whatever. Don't feel like looking upo the links, but it is at my blog in early 2007. They may have rebuilt the appearance, but I am sure all that is still in there lmao!) That does NOTHING to make anyone safer. It only throws a major wrench into issues, and there is no telling where all that data is going?

One last thing that I think is overlooked, is that for some of the hackers,no doubt, it is just a game. Just entertainment. Pure folly
I think anyone who has been paying any amount of attention must know the hackers are probably comedians, artists and/or musicians who really have technical backgrounds or something.
(and I think you know how those types are, eh? ) biggrin

I also know what started all the problems with the decline in buyers.
eBay about four years ago, (maybe a bit more?) started adding junk code after junk code.
That and all the add on BS from thrid pary jerks.

These morons at eBay just kept on and still do today.
But back then, they probpaly wiped out a good % of users who where and are still
on dial up. An average ebay page on a 56K modem loads in over a minute.
Now you tell me who's going to sit and wait that long.

So you see. These idiots have NEVER had a clue.
They just happen to be in the right pace at the right time and rode the wave.

Oh and the amature criminal frauds they hired... i.e. Lieworld and crew, surly have helped
people see the light and get the hell out.

It's really funny how eBay don't see that these frauds they hired do more damage
to their reputation than good. I hear LW is about to lose the contract too. biggrin

Yes, remember the dreaded "dead dog slow" period? When they made some massive changes to the site?

I quit completely for about 2 months.
Some site issues really truly have gone uncorrected since then.

Regarding the use of alleged "Paid Shills"...
Well, IMO, that practice has done more to foster hatred towards them perhaps than anything else I can think of. Perhaps even moreso than unfair chargebacks, which have literally ruined people's lives or caused great hardships.

When someone, for instance, has all their trading partners receive emails branding one as fraud, (without evidence, or due proccess, or recourse) well rest assured that that is a harm which is waaaaaaay over the line!

Mind you, PP never ever has to offer a shred of proof that any chargeback or fraud ever occurred. Further, since the service is full of glitches, it is their fault in some cases, clearly.
Example: When they disallow you to remove bank account info, then a 'glitch' causes them to try to draw funds from a long fallow account with a low balance. Resulting in NSF for the purchaser, followed by the dreaded reports to your buying clients and seller(s) that you are a fraud. This of course is only made worse by the fact that no human being even reads your email.

One would believe that if any fraud would actually occurr, they should release that info to the victim, so that the victim could persue legal recourse via legit law enforcement. Why don't they? One can only speculate...

And some folks do not like being called fraud, thief and liar when they, in their hearts & minds, know for a fact, that such is not the case.
Especially when their is more than good reason to believe that those making such accusations are, in fact LIARS!

Some folks will do whatever it takes to prove to the world just who are the real thieves and liars! And who are the ones who resort to the lowest tactics to silence those who would seek to expose them.

Here is another reason why folks should not believe for an instant that the real Vladuz was caught.
Borrowing the last line from an article in the ebay loves crime thread:

Nicola-Roman was arrested in Bulgaria last summer and extradited to the United States in November.

First off, that report of the 38 hacker round-up started as an actual announcement from real law enforcement, not a companay sponsored press release. And as we see, there is a follow-up, and the person has been extradited to the USA.
See the difference?

I also have first hand personal knowledge that entrapment techniques were used. They likely caught whoever the first foolish greedy scammer was to fall for it. Hook, line & sinker.

For anyone unaware, the software to hack ebay in various ways is freely available for anyone with half a brain to find in milliseconds, so why would anyone offer a nickle for it?

But I can tell you this.
With companies operating like criminals as it appears both eBay and PP are...
You have to fight fire with fire and suspect everything they do is with criminal intent
or to attempt to cover up criminal activity on their part.

Probably one of the main reason I never had any
real 'issues' to speak of while using PP was because I figured out
what both these slim balls where all about early on, and took measures to protect myself.

Hell... I even got out of eBay with 100% FB, despite all the attempts by the paid and non paid
trolls to see to it I was destroyed. LMAO

Locals fall victim to car-selling scam on fake eBay

A 21-year-old man who borrowed $8,400 to buy 2005 Dodge 4-by-4 pickup
truck is stuck with a loan and no truck. Both he and another Normal
resident were victims of a scam on the Internet.

They believed
they were buying vehicles on eBay, said Normal Police Sgt. Dan Kelly.
But it was a bogus site with a remarkable resemblance to eBay.
Information from past pages on the legitimate Web site was used to
create the bogus one.

Both victims wired money into fraudulent
accounts, said Kelly, who suspects other victims both locally and
nationally. We had two people come to us in 10 days.

The other victim was a 60-year-old woman paying $12,340 for a 2007 Toyota Prius Hybrid, said Kelly.

The
man bought his vehicle June 17 but first talked to police July 11. The
woman bought her's Sunday and got suspicious a lot sooner.

She thought it was too good to be true, Kelly said.

She contacted eBay and called police Monday.

In
both cases, the victims were pressured to send money immediately
because of the seller's hardship because of divorce. After initial
contact on the bogus Web site, communication was by e-mail with the
alleged seller stringing along the young man with many excuses for the
delay in the trucks arrival.

Finally all contact ceased, Kelly said.

Kelly
said the Dodge pickup trucks owner lives in Texas and it was not for
sale. The Prius owner also lives in Texas, but could not be contacted.

Kelly
cautioned anyone using a Web site to be very familiar with all the
safeguards to make sure they are not scammed especially with such
expensive items.

lookie here... Hackers in Texas! Also would seem to indicate that the xss flaw is still alive & well on the ebay site. But I have little doubt there are more ways to hack ebay, ways that are far more sinister & subtle, and to never be found out.

(as we all know well, through denial, eb protects hackers.)

There are so many ways someone can become a victim of identity theft. It doesn't always have to be an elaborate pick pocketing scheme or even a sneak thief opening up credit cards if your name. Sometimes your identity can be breached without ever coming face to fact with another human being, all while surfing the Internet.

"Something so secure as a PayPal account, and Ebay--which so many people use. You would think that it's just so secure and nothing like this could possibly happen, "says ID theft victim Maureen Bliven.

Maureen Bliven and her fifteen year old son had a deal. He could use popular websites like Ebay and Paypal to buy and sell things on the Internet as long as she was around to monitor his on line shopping. Bliven's son only broke that promise once. One day, he got home from school before she did and logged onto Ebay.

"What happened was someone had actually hacked into the Ebay website and set up a fake log in page. He clicked on a link to buy guitar hero points, " said Bliven.

By clicking ont hat link, the hacker got all of her checking account information and ended up nearly liquidating the family's checking account; stealing close to $3,000.
Not only did the hacker take control of Bliven's account, he also took the account and changed it from a personal Ebay account to a business account.

Once learning of the breach, Bliven contacted Paypal directly. They told her this situation is pretty unique. Turns out the scam artists live nowhere near Bliven's upstate home but rather, were tucked away in a small Texas town. Colonie police somehow tracked these guys down and with one phone call to Texas authorities, they were able to put these guys away.

"It's like being robbed, even though someone didn't actually come into your house. But they did come in and take your personal information. They took money from you that you worked hard for. You certainly don't want to see it taken, "said Bliven.

Bliven's story has a happy ending. After what she says were hundreds of phone calls, she finally got her money back. However, she was told by creditors this situation could negatively impact her fifteen year old son's credit rating, because his name was involved.

Thieving hackers' eBay con

THIEVES have been hacking into eBay accounts to buy items using other peoples credit card details, it emerged yesterday.

And because the crooks brazenly turn up and collect the goods in person the seller is not covered by the PayPal fraud guarantee.

They then discover they are out of pocket when the cash is returned to the hijacked account. PayPal say the seller would be covered if they had posted the item and obtained proof it had been sent.

Stephanie Beattie, 28, of South London, was duped and lost £630.

A spokesman for eBay said: We strongly recommend high value items are not collected in person. A PayPal spokesman said: Any item hand-delivered will not qualify for protection.
