Today I purchased a new chair from a local office supply outlet. I saved, in total, nearly 80 American dollars off the least expensive sleazebay BIN deal.
After getting it to its destination and unboxing, I discovered that the air piston assy was missing. One quick call and a quick trip (< 5 miles) back solved the trouble. I was easily able to get the exact missing component.
Had this occured on ebay, I cannot even recount all the hoorrers I would have faced.
...Endless emails back and forth with the seller, filing of numerous complaints with sleazebay/painpal, the canned emails, the abject frustration... Of course that would also require countless hours of boning up on sleazebay policies, reading numerous 3 sentence tutorials and help pages, (each with 9 or so links to read for full comprehension) Familiarizing myself with every subtle nuance and definition, (eg difference between a dispute and an escalation? ~whatever... [WGAF?])
Then not to mention possibly having to re-pack, re-ship, pay for return shipping, waiting, waiting and more waiting, worrying, worrying and more worrying that the seller would ever respond, have the correct part or another sealed box(with the same possiblity of missing parts), would my chargeback time limit run out as I get strung along... etc, ad nauseum...
Of course I wont even start about how it would have supported what appears to many as a continuing criminal enterprise, or perhaps forced contraception and slave labor in some far off communist country, or any unknown number of other immoral and/or unsavory activities/practices, had I made the purchase on sleazebay.
My conclusion; sleazebay blows goats.
(I have proof.)
