Paypal not needed for sales!

Just got done with one of my better weeks of sales on ebay and all without Paypal.  Not a single buyer asked about it either.  Purchases ranged from a meer $8.00 up to $150.00 for items and totaled over $700.00

Could it be that buyers are actually getting used to dealing with sellers that no longer offer Paypal?

I didn't even offer another service like Bidpay in it's place just good old USPS money orders.

When others say you won't get bids, as many bids or that you can't sell without Paypal on ebay they are full of it.

Congrats!

It could be that word is getting out that PainPal goes after the victims, or that they charge the 25 dollar bribe to possibly recover under the flawed bogus buyer protection scam. Remember, at last count, over 84 million have quit using PainPal. (because they know it sucks!!!)

I believe you get more bids. Furthermore, the bids you DO get are more likely to be from honest buyers. Since each time you use PainPal,you have 100% risk involved, Not using PainPal as payment method is also great for peace of mind.

You have to be careful about using the terms "NO PayPal", "PayPal SUCKS" or any like that. Such auctions are being actively sought out and sellers harrassed.

Just to add, if you have a google sell account, you can use it now, as this cc&p d pink post below shows.

Just do not mention it in the auction text, after the auction is over, do not use sleazebays invoice or email system, and VIOLA!!! Once the deal is complete, sleazebay has NO control or concern over what happens privately between seller and buyer, off ebay.

Secondly, please clarify the following items:

#1 Does the policy only apply to LISTINGS, or does it apply to all Store pages, promotion boxes, and about me pages as well?

For example, could a seller put a link to their Store Policies page in a listing, and on the Store Policies page still be allowed to put Cash or other payment methods, as an acceptable payment method?

#2 The policy also does not prevent sellers and buyers from negotiating payment methods after the sale, where cash or beads or stamps could be used for payment, if both parties agree to it. The policy only limits the advertising of payment methods during a live listing, pre-transaction by the seller.

#3 What process would sellers who want to use a new service, or new services themselves, need to go through to apply for eBay's approval to be allowed to be used in listings under the new policy (related to the confusion on which third-parties are "good" and which are "bad" under the new policy as I stated in my first post).

Hi Katiyana:

Let me try to address each of your questions:

#1 - The policy applies to all forms of solicitation of payment on the site so it applies to listings, Store pages, Me pages, etc.

#2 - eBay cannot police activity off of the site so the policy does not apply.

#3 - While we haven't set up a formal process - emailing us in Trust and Safety with a question about a specific payment method is okay. We may set up a formal process later.

Thanks for the thoughtful questions.

Matt

Christmas shopping here I come!

There has been a significant trend in people going back to Money Orders for online purchases. CNN and Reuters also had articles this weekend about people becoming tired of DVD's and are returning to VHS tapes, they've even wrote about more and more people are dropping their DSL service and returning to dialup internet service. Cell phone subscriptions are taking a dive. I think people are ready to slow down.

As for Christmas the hot item this year is suppose to be the old 64 bit Atari game console, they are making a big comeback. Space Invaders rules!!!

If you use PayPal for buying, you can get everything FREE!!!
Great entertainment value!!!
It may also be the only way to recover what they stole from you.

PayPal is still the preferred method of payment among stamp fraud/shill bidding retards though.
