I'll have a pint of Anchor Steam please and then toast to the shills being laid off.

Maybe they'll get a more lucrative job at one of the many fast food services or bowling alleys.

You cant even type certain letters in a row.

What I meant to say was ...

Any of various mixed alcoholic drinks consisting usually of brandy, whiskey, vodka, tequila or gin combined with fruit juices or other liquors and often served chilled.

I'm such a rookie!

Gusano Rojo is a beautiful golden amber mezcal that slides down you throat and explodes in your stomach, and by the time you get to the worm (Which before being preserved in the fermented liquid of the mezcal cactus is red, thus Gusano (worm) Rojo (red))) you are dancing with the ancestors in a circle of color. It is always best to accompany this drink with fresh cut peyote (Hikuri) and garlic (Ajo).

+ for 3 days will help you understand that Mescalito is your friend, and no one to fear as Carlos Castaneda wished us to believe.

I do not recommend this combination for all, but for those that have an adventuring Spirit, it will not hurt.

Wow. Had a few varieties of better Mezcal. I understand they export they cheap stuff here to USA.

That Carlos Casteneda really makes for some wild reading. I liked the part in The Teachings of Don Juan: the Yaqui Way of Life, where he rode the green bubbles...remember?

I was very fortunate to have lived with the Huichol Indians of west central Mexico for 9 years. I was truly a gringo in paradise. When they discovered that I was not interested in exploiting their spirituality, they invited me to go on a Wirikuta (trek for the sacred Hikuri (peyote)). It was an everlasting experience full of colorful stories.

I can tell you were to get the liquid part of the experience; the other will have to be at your own risk here in the USA, unfortunately.

Castaneda lived in fear of Mescalito, and Don Juan, in reality was a lie, but not in truth. Castaneda claimed he met the Don in a bus station in Nogales, Arizona, when in truth he met him on a beach in San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico. His real name was Don Jose Matsuwa, he was a Huichol Mara’akame (shaman), and not a Yaqui shaman as Castaneda claims. The book that got Castaneda his Ph.D from UCLA in Anthropology was his book, Journey to Ixtlan, and he claimed it was not fiction, but it was. Ixtlan del Rio is an ancient spot in Nayarit Mexico.

I read his books in the late 60’s early 70, so the part with the bubbles does not come to mind, I will have to go re-read it. I thought that he finally got it together in his sixth book: “The Eagles Gift”. The double headed eagle is the messenger of God, and he is the Spirit that brought the gift of the peyote to the Huichol from God. The secret in the heart of the peyote is how to grow the corn to feed the people. This was a spiritual concept that first entered the consciousness of the Huichol when they were changing from hunter-gatherers to slash burn farmers.

Here is a exert from the Eagles Gift:

Accept your fate in humbleness. The course of a warrior's destiny is unalterable. The challenge is how far he can go within those rigid bounds, how impeccable he can be within those rigid bounds. If there are obstacles in his path, the warrior strives impeccably to overcome them. If he finds unbearable hardship and pain on his path, he weeps, but all his tears put together could not move the line of his destiny the breadth of one hair. Fulfill your fate as a warrior not as a petty person.

Here is a exert from a book that I am writing called “A Smell Hut in the Jungle”

The spiritual awareness of self was first explained to me by Mescalito as I sat in the small hut in the jungles of Nayarit, Mexico. It had been raining for days and the dirt road in front of the hut had turned into a small brown river. The night was coated with the silvery haze of the moon as it can be in a place devoid of civilization, and the only sounds were the sounds of nature as God had provided. The staccato of croaks from the frogs that lived in the thatched roof of the hut seemed to echo down the ravine in answer to the fall of the water in the cascada. It was an ancient place.

Mescalito would not enter the hut. He said that Human Beings filled their homes with things of the past that left no room for things of the future, so he sat on a rock across the clearing that the hut occupied under a large mango tree. The words that passed between us were not words spoken but were as raindrops that splashed in the moonlight in the river road that ran between us.

“You have to understand that I am a companion, a companion that will walk a worldly path with you, but at some time in this journey we will come to a place where I cannot go, and only you can travel. That is the point in the path where you turn around and walk back into yourself. Only you can walk this path.” And with that he got up and walked into the darkness without a goodbye as was his habit.

This passage, this journey, according to the Huichol, has two stages. The first is “The Gateway to the Clouds”, where Mescalito is the companion. The second stage, the place where even Mescalito cannot go with you, that is when you turn and walk into yourself, this is called “The Opening of the Clouds.”

This all comes from the philosophy very strongly believed by Castaneda that everything we know is all programmed dogma, but deep inside everyone, and it could be as deep as being implanted on our DNA strand, is a profound truth and we are the only ones that can tap into this truth. When we get there we discover that it is all the same, we are all the same, but different. Two words that are the dichotomy of life: Human Beings. The Human is what makes us all the same, the Beings is how we walk the path.

I found my nine years with the Huichol to be the beginning of the best days of my life. I had a vast shift in my concept of what was real and what was not. I found comfort sitting watching young girls pick head lice from each other’s hair, something that would cause revulsion in others, I found to be a act of profound compassion and love. My whole understanding of poverty was changed. I had grow up in a society that measured poverty by the lack of mundane items, but in my new understanding of poverty it was measured by the lack of compassion in one’s heart. I found people that lived in stick houses with mud packed walls and dirt floors to be some of the riches people in the world. The small offerings of beans and blue corn tortillas they gave me better fair then some of the dinners I had at Luchow’s in New York.

“..this is not a work of fiction. What I am describing is alien to us; therefore, it seems unreal”. Carlos Castaneda from the prologue of The Eagles Gift.

Some time I will tell you about my Boda (wedding party) on the beach of Playa La Cocos. Now that was the night, we drank 1500 bottles of beer, and uncounted bottles of assorted mezcal and tequila. There were mariachis and Indians playing tepus (drums), and we danced and sang and celebrated life.

Anon, cheap is a matter of perception, after a few shot you do not think of it as cheap. I used to stop in the village of Tequila on my way to Guadalajara. They had some wild stuff there. They had some tequila called Oso Negro (Black Bear) that gave you a different perception of life.

But, what the hell, I am still a gringo in paradise, and Life IS Good. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Sorry for the long post, but when I get a few under my belt, I get talkative.

Here is a site that has excerpts of Carlos’s books in mp3 format. If you do not wish to read, you can listen.

You are correct I would just add (as I'm sure you already know)..

True wealth is how we live our lives.

We all know we can't take money of material possessions with us when we go.

So how we lived our lives and how we treated others is really all the matters in the end.

I'm happy to wake up every day and rejoice that (as someone coined the phrase here:)

LIFE IS GOOD

And how we act and what we do has as much to do with who we are than anything,
and truly IS everything in the end.

Hey... can I buy a round for the house here?

I'd like to toast all of you and your efforts to be true to your selves and I admire how you
all make it known to others that you will not lay down and LET a certain groups
just walk all over people.

You are all indeed the true heroes in life.

Cheers

Cheers back at you and to all, and I think something very special is going to come to light on that board in a few days. We many have seen the end to Liveworld, could it be? It is a very strange place indeed, no. Look at meme, she is almost sounding like a anti with her “Lets start a petition and pull all you paypal info in your auctions. HUUUUUUMMMMMMM.

Truth has always vanquished paid mouthpieces. What is going on now is what should happen, as soon as you see a new face go for it.

“Hello Mr.\Mrs.\ Poster

I am so sorry to hear this is happening to you. But sorry to say this is nothing new and if your read this board you will see you are not alone. This is what I think you can do: BLABLABLABLA, (fill in the blas with the info).

I hope this helps, and I wish you good luck in the future. If you need more help, please ask.”

Pick them up, help them out, and send them on their way with no paypal. This is how you win, and it will hurt the pros worse then letting them slap you.

Now enough of this shop talk, we are getting close to the worm and the room is starting to dance.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Life IS Good!

Ok, I need a 7/7, ease up on the /7.  PP is using 2o7.net to extract people's financial information from their computers and then SELLING the information?  Does E-bay use it too? I don't use PP, but I DO use E-bay.

Well, both.  I've never heard of 2o7 and would like to keep it that way.  It came up at the stupid board.  I don't have to worry about PP, but I want to make sure I can detect it if E-bay uses it too.

It's like a graveyard over there.

XP Cheers back to you and to all of you who have elected to make a difference in lives of people who come to the boards for help. The tide is turning. Lieworld has lost control of the Board. Only a few remnants of Pros are coming in. And some of those posters are starting to wobble on their former stances. I wish I knew all of you better and I wish you all knew me better, but our common goal unites us.

However, They (lieworld)  maybe holding back hoping that we lose interest and go away. But I for one will not. There are too many people being burned by Paypal. If they keep hidden in the shadows it just makes our Job easier. You know I think that each one of us are the type of people that despises people or companys that try to exploit and take avdantage of others. I for one get into trouble at school for taking up for other students who I think are being mistreated or ripped off by the Administration. Its just in my nature. I bet we all have that in common.

So cheers to all of you and may you never lose the fire and heart that empowers you every day. Keep fighting the good fight, for there are many riches in nobility, riches that death itself can never take away...

Cheaperknives, as I recall there was a great deal of controversy surrounding Castenedas books (I thought itwas only 3) such as if they were fiction or non fiction, also whether academic pronciples were violated. It was great reading and I doubt Casteneda will ever be given the credit he deserves as an influence on popular culture overall. There is more there than is noticable to most. It has been a while since I read that one but I still have my will, my folly, and always try to see

As far as peyotes and tequila, oh yeah... that is always fun until someone trips too hard, turns into an ape, runs amok through the city streets late at night, terrorizing the populus, then breaks into the zoo, molests the sheep and chickens, harrasses the big cats, and finally kills and eats a couple pygmy goats. Then the next moring of course, wakes up naked in jail needing bail money and clothes.

I hate it when that happens.

It looks like your book could be interesting.
