Hello Fellow ebayers!

Maybe we could start a list of what we would most like to accomplish as a group as we wait for others to join, and figure out together the best way to accomplish what we want.

I first of all would like to bring awareness to the newbies on ebay that what protections they think they may have using Paypal may not be correct.  I know that this would have helped me had I known then what I know now. As it is Paypal is feeding off of the new ones and as long as this is allowed we have little hope of making them change their policies.

Please join in.

Sirius, I am very much interested in group input.  The more heads we put together, the more we can accomplish.  I think your idea of warning newbies is excellent - hadn't even thought of that.

My guess is that the best way to warn a newbie is to catch them on the eBay boards and drift them here or to another informative site and let them read.  As long as they are reading on eBay's boards, they are going to be confused by the cheerleaders who continually post bad information.  I'd just like everyone to be able to make an educated decision and sometimes you can't say what needs to be said on eBay because its gets deleted.

That won't be the case here though...lol

And given that, be prepared for the cheerleaders to eventually hit here and start their own shell-fire.  To be fair, I cannot moderate them either...........but we can always tell them to refer to the UA with any problems they may have with this site...lol

If anyone here does business with a newbie would they please take it upon themselves to educate them in the pitfalls of Paypal.  And no I don't mean by filing a chargeback

We need a informative, honest, EASY TO UNDERSTAND, post directed at the newbies created so that we can just keep one on the PP discussion board front page.

Perhaps if we kept it on this site anyone could copy and paste it on the board.

I have more of a sellers background although I do also buy on ebay occassionally. The problem I am having with this is that as it stands PP is pitting Buyers and Sellers against each other and coming out clean in the middle when it is their policy that actually sucks and allows for fraud on both sides.  Personally think that more buyers and sellers on ebay are good and honest than not, but as long as PP won't totally protect either ?

Maybe it has to be something like: Sellers Pitfalls of offering PP- your account and what can happen to it even if you are an honest seller, Freezing of,  how to avoid the most common problems if you offer this buying option, and the only way to be totally safe is not to offer it at all.

And Buyers beware: Using Paypal is no guarantee that the seller will not disappear with your money, that cc purchases may be covered through your cc company but.... There must be a limit on what cc will cover and let you maintain your card carrying status...isn't there?  What is their limits for coverage? What chargebacks can do to your credit in the long run? and the sneaky tricks pp pulls so that buyers have a more difficult time paying with their cc.

To many times I have wondered if PP actually refunds anyone for anything.  What stops them from saying they have when in fact both the buyer and seller lose?

So many questions with PP unwilling to be accountable for anything.

So what are the most common issues with PP from both sides?  Is it fraud? Seller fees for little service? what about the fact that they can never answer a question staright forward when it is asked?

Let us hear your thoughts.
