Looks like the new "feedback" (or ratings) system is rearing it's ugly head. The ebay forums are currently lit up with reports of members not being able to leave a text comment with feedback.
They are able only to rate positive if a seller, or positive/negative if a buyer. No way to leave any comment.
How's that for 'social' - hahahahhaha!
Will they go to a fakebook or youtube type thing but where you can only like it? (if you're a a seller any way.) Will they switch to the thumbs symbol too? Will neutral rating vanish?
Will they even continue to call it feedback? Because by both definition and function, it has not been a true feedback system since 2008 anyway, (except in ebaY's tainted little universe.)
Wouldn't such a change further degrade the feedback system to the point where it's plain meaningless?
This may turn into a big, big deal. Maybe not. But with all the fake IDs etc, now the ability to manufacture or cultivate a profile away from any prying eyes, it's only natural that will be gamed and abused like there's no tomorrow. Trust and safety will suffer gravely.
Betcha you can all kiss those BBLs goodbye too. Those are already worthless under the current anonymized system.
