SALEM - The money it generated last year has prompted the city to use an online auction website to dispose of its surplus items - everything from a LaserJet printer to a street sweeper.
Bidding opens today on Municibid.com and will continue until Sept. 7. Described as "the equivalent of eBay for cities and towns" by Purchasing Agent Thomas Watkins, Municibid.com specializes in online government auctions, connecting buyers and sellers from communities across the country....
