It's not all too often thast the subject of ebay comes up casually in real life (outside of people who used to sell there/use the site), but in this episode I've heard several other people spontaneously mention this FBI warning on ebay.
Seems like the message being heard/received is that ebay is a filthy, hacked scam-trap, enveloped in fraud. A site to avoid at all costs. "Ebay and anything related to it=scam." ... "don't go on ebay" etc
I'm sure it will still take a while for the cumulative effects to be noticed, measured and/or 'felt'
It's too funny. Sleazebay can take down critic sites, harass and threaten real victims, but they let the scams stay unmolested. For literally years.
