Bud, did you read anywhere that ebay was thinking about getting rid of their boards? I read it somewhere, and now I can't remember where I saw it. Liveworld can't keep the farce going, that all is well in PayPal land, or purse board land, and, trust and safety has long since fled the scene.
You have to admit the boards are making e-bay look increasingly shady. They can't keep up with all the complaints, and it doesn't look good for e-bay to have areas that expose their fraud right there on their own site.
One thing I do know for a fact is that the forums were created due to part of an FTC settlement arrangement/agreement between eb and the FTC when President Clinton was still in office. They were to be used as 'educational' facilities for ebay for the users.
I suspect that there may be something 'official' in the not too distant future with regards to that entire situation.
There have been some 'incidents' over there that no doubt have captured some dubious attention.
On a different note... Have you noticed all the recent 'monkey' references, with regards to eb, popping up all over?
Wow, I didn't know about the FTC requirement. No wonder they haven't shut those open sores they call their forums down yet.
They can't.
If what you say is true, and it does sound feasible. Maybe it went along the lines: As part of this settlement agreement, you eBay, will establish and operate a forum for your customers (for what reason I'm not sure)...
One thing is certain. The company they hired to 'host' their forums and 'buzz market' their services is one of the worse snake oil sales teams I've ever seen.
eBay speaks a lot about 'transparency'. The only thing over there that's transparent is those cons they have bullying paying customers. And what's real funny is that now that there are very few true 'evangelist/cheerleaders/customers left, the paid frauds stick out like sore thumbs on ALL the eBay forums now.
I wonder why they don't follow that law and disclose they are being compensated? I offered them this nice banner to use many years ago:
I used to. Before I closed the account but actually, posting the links to the videos on youtube really seemed to bring some people over. And others will follow, I am sure.
What I don't understand is why the FTC doesn't listen to what is being said in there. The oppression of so many people is there in black and white and they seem to ignore what is going on.
I think that we need to join forces with other boycotters who are upset with just the way corporate bull **** is operating in our world today. To think that this is only an Ebay problem is being pretty small minded. It is massive and that is where we all need to unite.
I realize that it is so time consuming but what is the end result for our efforts. If we don't do something, then what? This has got to be stopped. Worldwide!!
Networking is the key and finding as many media outlets as we can to get the word out.
I am going to look at the Olympic boycott issues closer and I don't see why we aren't more united with that force.
If we look at it as many Army's working together, it seems that we could be more productive.
Funny thing, they are closing down the chat rooms by suspending just about everybody out of there!
A certain varmint that looks like a rat seems to throw the rules in your face, it knows them inside out, then bingo, you outta there! It has a suspend button, not report! It claims not to report, it simply suspends! And it denies working for ebad, well perhaps it works for the moderation tool company that runs the chat rooms. Sneaky little varmint! And if IT shows up, suddemly it's backup gang follow. IT seems so nice and innocent, but its cowhores bait and start fights to set up their victum. Sound familiar? I am sure that you all know who IT is, it is idolized by the other witches in their as their goddess, they worship IT in the enchanted forest. Sound like their MO?
If you know any of those other site owner/operators you might ask them to submit to places like quantcast.com where they have those nice relative comparison charts so that we can see how they are doing. I am sure people leaving are all going somewhere. So far PSU seems to be the only place with any stats to speak of.
(can't say I have checked tham all, but some are not there at quantcast yet
I think my favorite part of the video might just be those cheerleaders in the graveyard btw.
