eBay's latest annoyance... a bid slider?

Starting to see more reports of the latest sneaky enhancement. Fake outbid alerts, for phantom items.

Must be just another of those hundreds of experimentations? (LoL) As usual, no 'official' word to be found. No screenshots of the critter yet either. Someone will need to be quick on the ctrl and print screen keys.

eBay's latest annoyance... a bid slider?

I had the strangest experience when I came back to the computer and refreshed the screen for the forum...

A slider popover, a small one about the size of a large postage stamp, slid from the right edge of the screen in far enough (over other stuff) so that I could see You have been Outbid, under which was a picture of a vase I've never seen before, next to which it had the time left (less than a day shown in the number of hours) and under that Bid Again, entreating me to click on it.

As I was looking at it, trying to recognize it, reluctant to bid on something I've never seen (if it had been something I'd searched lately, I MIGHT have clicked on it), it slid back off the screen to the right.

I haven't looked at any vases lately. I probably haven't looked at vases for at least four days or so, and then ony briefly.

I don't have any bids on anything on this account.

What the heck? Anyone else seen it yet?

Why does eBay keep telling me I've been outbid

On things I DO NOT HAVE BIDS ON?

These stupid slide in popups are FLAWED as several times now they have popped in saying I've been out bid on something that does not show up in MY EBAY OR IN BIDS/OFFERS.

**bleep** is going on here??????????
