Looks like HACKERS to me!

Here's another topic thread about the pop-up mentioned above:

authentication request popup on ebay?? FE Build-A-Pool PROD Auth"??

and a screencap someone posted there.

LoLz! I'm sure this is only the least of the issues. Go look on the technical issues, bidding, search and seller central forums. We hear that bids have not been 'taking', and images/pictures are completely borked!

roflmao!

LoLz! Looks like ebay is so screwed up hardly anything is working properly. Last time I searched for something all the searches returned completely blank pages... Even view seller's other items returned total nothingness.

LoLz! Good ol' sleazebay: hacked, cracked, borked and thoroughly zombified!!!

Read the follow up comments. Ebay is so messed up itthey'll never figure it out.

Looks like HACKERS to me!

This site with the horrible techs and the awful changes have left it wide open to security issues.

The site is not safe.

Case in point this lovely little pop up that wants your username and password.

Please dont anyone be foolish enough to supply this for what is probably hackers, although we know that would never be admitted by ebay.

So, do they compensate for the money i lose on this today or what.

Wow! unbelievable shizzle!

This is the aftermath of what sure looks like it could have been a hack job, as noted above and at various blogs/fora/letters.

eBay Mum on Glitch that Blocked Product Photos

Of course you'll want to read the entire report, but let's just cut right right to the quick with sleazebay's response:

"Our initial response to your inquiry will remain our statement for this technical issue."

Needless to say they never answered the questions posed, nor did they post anything about the failure/glitch/hack attack on their site anywhere.

I wonder what will happen if anyone should question them as to what is going on? The entire site is looking like it's being hacked in ways we can't imagine.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Popcorn, anyone?

Reprise!

May 2, 2013 07:08 AM

I'm getting this popup asking for a password when browsing ebay pages.  I have viewed one other thread where people reported same popup with apparently no interest or resolution from ebay's security team.

and yes, I have cleared my cache and I've run malware bytes

A username and password are being requested by http://i.ebayimg.com. The site says: "FE Build-A-Pool PROD Auth"

Did you ever wonder why things are so screwed up and why ebay-paypal are so tight lipped?

Did you ever wonder what else they may not be telling you?

Check these out. Google safe browsing pages for ebay and paypal. Both show infections, and have for quite some time.

https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://ebay.com

https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://www.paypal.com

Do you trust these outfits?

How can you?

Check this forum, my blog and tweetstream. You may be surprised.

But don't just assume ebay is concerned with your well being, when clearly their actions speak louder and state otherwise.

Strange Pop Up on eBay Is A Recurring Problem

highlights:

...Another seller wrote, "Ebay disconnected me, too, but not before assuring me this message is NOT from eBay..."

...As someone pointed out in the thread, EcommerceBytes previously reported this problem, which is a recurring glitch of some kind. We're waiting a response from eBay.

-----------------------------

I don't think anyone will be surpised if there is only recurring silence, or snarky comments from sleazebaY, after the last pompus reply;  noted above.

jmo, it looks and sounds like recurring dogmeat.

LoLz! Just thought I should post this to show that the pop-ups were and are a very serious issue. One way or another. Note that ebay, through it's conspicuous quietness, actually helps to erode trust.

I'm not sure how anyone in their right mind could trust any site with things like this going on to begin with, other than pure blind ignorance and/or some serious brainwashing?

Keep up the great work, ebaY!

New eBay hackers

May 2, 2013 09:37 AM

All my searches are being blocked with a hackers message: FE Build-A-Pool PROD Auth requires a user name and password verification; Norton antivirus flags ""Warning" insecure website.
