The edropoff shill bidding scandal on ebay

There's been quite a bit about this issue around the web.

It concerns what apears to be obvious shill bidding as per statements made by the seller, observations of bidding patterns, feedback, items being relisted even though semingly being 'won'. All this relates directly to a Reality TV show on VH1 cable channel, "House of Consignment", a 'high-end' consignment shop and local celebrity/star of the VH1 reality show from Chicago Illinois.

Starting off with Courthouse News Service, auctionbytes/ecommercebytes, lawsuits, court hearings, attempted censorship through SLAPP lawsuits and improper venue shopping, EFF.org involvement etc...

Then we found that not only had ebay changed it's shiill bidding policy, and also the shill bidding tutorial pages so as to allow bidding by employees of sellers, and to dis-include all mentions of Consignment shops, quite curiously, only in the USA. (but they forgot to change all the pages so that they matched. IOW, it appears they may have acted in great haste. They have extremely conflicting info listed on their various pages regarding shill bidding.

Needless to say, it has every appearance of massive fraud, conspiracy, and cover-up, like so many other things ebaY.

Here's a list of links to check out concerning the matters.

There's a lot more to this you will find if you peruse those links above.

It would be nice if anyone reading this would blog and tweet this to increase visibility. Please don't just sit back and watch. We need observers to become participants in helping to further expose this rotten situation.

If you have done any shopping with edropoff on ebay, you may want to review your bid history(s) and see if you've been shilled.

Remember, regardless of ebay and their presto-change-O policies, shill bidding is a crime! Victims are entitled to file criminal complaints if they have good reason to believe a crime has been committed.

This seems like one of the most blatant cases of misbehavior/misconduct I've ever seen on sleazebay.

Aloha.  We do not characterize the California and Illinois Court cases, in the way you've presented.  However as our site is pleasantly mentioned on your site, we're dropping an interesting short note about the case.

The United States District Court, Central District of California, case no. 2:12-CV-04095-GW, has on record document #117 filed 06/14/13.

Here's an excerpt:

"WHEREAS, on May 20, 2013, the Court stayed the case for 30 days in light of Dominique R. Sheldon's - lead counsel for Plaintiffs eDrop-Off Chicago LLC and Corri McFadden (collectively, "Plaintiffs") - departure from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP;

WHEREAS, the other primary partner representing Plaintiffs, Mark Durbin, announced his departure from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP last week;

WHEREAS, the issue of Plaintiffs' representation going forward has yet to be resolved and Plaintiffs need additional time to consider their options."

There are other interesting things happening, but it's an article in progress.
