Secondary Targets (The Church of Scientology and eBay)

Hello, fellow Anonymous

It has come to my attention, via Slashdot, that the cult of Scientology has been given access to eBay's auction database. Under eBay's Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program, the church has been given the power to remove auctions they claim violate their rights. In particular, the resale of old e-meters.

This is another way the Church exerts control. This makes it more difficult for free zone sigh-entologists to practice their faith independently. It also infringes on the after market - another assault on freedom.

By granting this level of control to the Church, a power akin to letting a car company block you from buying or selling used cars, eBay has sided with the Church. The Verified Rights Owner program also gives the Church access to the personal account information of anyone whose auction they block.

Grist for the fair game mill.

Perhaps it is time we look at secondary targets in the war against the Church of Scientology.

Though the Church has done nearly all it can to isolate itself and its victims from the outside world, it is not an island. Companies that turn a blind eye to the Church's activities must be made to re-examine their partnership.

EBay is an obvious choice. Their positioning on the internet also makes them an easy target for our campaign.

For more information about eBay's connection to the Church, follow the link to Slashdot at the right. (linked at top)

Do not forgive, do not forget, and do not relent, my Anonymous brothers and sisters.

See you on the Ides of March.

Microsoft Plough Ahead With Yahoo Bid, drawing out the whole thing just a little bit more.Newspond Whips Up A Storm and divides opinions. What do you think? Has eBay Let Scientology In? We´re not sure, but it definitely looks like eBay Losing Loyalty. And finishing with a bit of UK news, BBC iPlayer Goes Down A Storm
